An introductory course designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of interpersonal, public, and group communication, and an opportunity to improve oral communication skills. Operations with algebraic expressions; linear and quadratic functions; graphs of polynomial and rational functions; systems of equations; logarithmic and exponential functions; arithmetic and geometric progressions; permutations and combinations. Not recommended for those having four years of high school mathematics, including two units of algebra, one unit of geometry, and one-half unit of advanced or senior mathematics.
